UPL has devised a four-stage process to ensure that organisations gain maximum benefits from the Carbon Reduction Commitment scheme. Extensive cost savings and energy reductions can be attained by those organisations which gain a full understanding of the scheme and implement robust energy management initiatives. Early adopters will be placed well ahead of their rivals in the yearly published CRC league table.
The early action metrics laid out by the scheme for measurement during the first four years clearly steer organisations towards responsible energy management.

The metric gives a simple message: Those organisations that follow the guidelines will gain significant advantages; those that do nothing will lose out.
UPL's route to CRC success
The scheme is a complex mix of guidelines, mandatory measurements and staged application processes. UPL's team of CRC specialists is constantly monitoring the scheme's progress to ensure that UPL can cut through the complexities to deliver advice that results in maximum costs savings and a substantial reduction in energy consumption for your organisation.
Year on year, organisations will have to raise the cash to purchase carbon allowances. If organisations can fully embrace the CRC, substantial savings will be made that will reduce the amount of allowances that have to be purchased and the savings gained will fully outweigh the costs the scheme initially incurs.
Stage 1: Free assessment. UPL will analyse your organisation's capabilities and devise a clear route to success.
Stage 2: Carbon Footprint. We will collate all required data for footprinting for entry onto the CRC.
Stage 3: Planning. UPL will provide a feasibility study for attainment of the Carbon Trust Standard and liaise with the Trust to ensure all criteria is met. (Entry on to the scheme is not guaranteed.) We will also plan and implement a structured rollout of AMR.
Stage 4: Carbon Trust Standard. With AMR rollout underway, UPL will project manage your Carbon Trust Standard application.
