Although UPL has licensed access to nearly all utility buried services, on occasion some records may be inaccurate, not yet completed or the site may be so complex that until a dig has started the exact location or depth of all cables and pipes remains uncertain. In these circumstances, UPL can provide a Ground Penetrating Radar Scan (GPR) service. Using the latest radar technology, the device scans the area and provides visibility of all services and works underneath the surface.
The scan will highlight the precise location, size and depth of most cabling and pipeworks. UPL can then transfer this information onto your existing plans, building you a concise report for your project planning.
GPR scanning provides a further mitigation of risk for construction works in close proximity to existing utility apparatus and will ensure that all relevant Health and Safety measures are realised quickly, enabling your project to commence in the shortest possible timescale.
