  • Environment Agency issues CRC registration guidance

    10 Nov 2009

The Environment Agency has issued guidance advising organisations how to register for the forthcoming Carbon Reduction Commitment Energy Efficiency Scheme (CRC). The CRC registration period begins on 1st April 2010 and continues until 30th September 2010. Organisations which qualify for the CRC will need to register in this period, while those which have a half-hourly meter settled on the half-hourly market but which do not meet CRC qualification criteria will need to make an information disclosure.

Registration guidance can be found on the Environment Agency website at www.environment-agency.gov.uk/crc. The Environment Agency, which is acting as administrator of the scheme, will also be writing this month to all UK organisations which may have an obligation under the CRC. The letter will advise organisations how to prepare effectively for the CRC and how to ensure that they comply with each aspect of the scheme. Further CRC guidance concerning evidence packs, footprint reports and the CRC registration audit will be available to download from the Environment Agency website early next year.
